Requirements and test design
Review the agreed requirements, identify interfaces and translate acceptance criteria into functional, negative and regression test cases.
Automotive Verification & Validation
We support automotive software teams with ECU testing, diagnostics, integration verification and regression automation. The engagement connects requirements, test execution and defect investigation so your engineers can understand what was tested, what failed and what needs attention before a release.
THE ENGINEERING CHALLENGE
A new software build can affect several ECUs and interfaces at once. Manual checks, inconsistent environments and scattered logs make it difficult to distinguish a software defect from a test-bench issue. We help structure the verification work and produce evidence that engineering teams can review.
TECHNICAL SCOPE
The proposal identifies which activities are included and how they will be accepted.
Review the agreed requirements, identify interfaces and translate acceptance criteria into functional, negative and regression test cases.
Check software behaviour, operating modes, signal responses and communication across the agreed ECU functions. Document test conditions and expected results.
Scope CAN/LIN communication and UDS diagnostic checks, including fault handling, diagnostic responses and relevant interface behaviour.
Develop scripts for your available simulation or hardware-in-the-loop environment, organise repeatable suites and capture execution evidence.
Review logs, reproduce failures where possible and prepare defect reports with conditions, reproduction steps and supporting traces.
Summarise coverage, pass/fail results, unresolved defects and test limitations so the customer can make its own release decision.
TYPICAL DELIVERABLES
Outputs are defined in the agreed work package. These are typical assets that can be included, rather than a fixed bundle for every engagement.
How we agree quality and acceptance →ILLUSTRATIVE ENGAGEMENT
A team releasing ECU software can begin with one diagnostic feature and one existing regression suite. Hykmann can scope the test cases, automate the agreed checks, investigate failed runs and hand over a release evidence pack. The customer provides the bench, software versions and acceptance criteria.
Example scope · not a customer case studyA specialist can join your team, a work package can deliver defined outputs, or a recurring workstream can support ongoing development and testing.

SERVICE QUESTIONS
Yes, the initial assessment establishes the environment, licenses and access needed. The proposal identifies supported tools and any training or integration work before delivery starts.
No. Start with a feature, ECU, regression suite or automation backlog. A bounded scope makes ownership and acceptance easier to establish.
DEFINE THE NEXT STEP
We will discuss the scope, delivery model and inputs needed to move it forward.
